Variety at Work in May 2019

During May, we had the usual requests for uniforms, shoes, baby items and food. We also provided a washing machine for a single parent with three children. At the request of a Health Visitor, we paid for carpets for two children’s bedrooms.

We also contributed towards school trips for six children. This is so worthwhile as for many children this is the only opportunity for them to experience travel.

The totals for the month of April are 19 families with 41 children amounting to £3,132.28.

Variety Golf Day 2019

Following last year’s most successful re introduction of our Annual Golf Day, I am pleased to advise you that with the support of our most generous sponsors, Hawk Lending Limited, we are holding this popular event at La Moye Golf Club on Friday 6th September.

As in previous years, teams will consist of four competitors and there will be a ‘Shotgun Start’ with a maximum of 22 teams.

The cost of each team will be £600. This will include welcome morning coffee with bacon rolls and a good traditional La Moye three course lunch. There will be, besides the main team prizes, nearest the pin and longest drive prizes and some fun challenges on the par 3’s. We will be holding our usual splendid raffle during the afternoon.

We do hope that you will enter a team and we look forward to a most enjoyable day and an even more beneficial one for the children in our Island.
