Huge congratulations to James Scott, Greg Wills, Julian Fowlis and Tommy Graham who recently received the Chief Barker's Citation for their amazing achievement completing this years Island Walk.

They approached Variety saying that they were taking part in the walk and wanted to raise some money for Variety. Their first target was £5,000 but they passed this very quickly, their target kept increasing, the final total raised was an incredible £16,718.

Chief Barker, Sandra Auckland, said, "This is absolutely phenomenal and will help us to improve the lives of so many families and their children. Words cannot express how grateful we are."

They are pictured receiving their awards from the Bailiff of Jersey and Variety's Patron, Sir Tim Le Cocq, at a recent lunch at the L'Horizon Hotel.

Well done and thank you lads!

Variety hold a Summer Party for over 100 deserving children

On Sunday 7th July, Variety held a lunchtime Summer Party for over 100 children with their parents and carers at the Hotel Ambassadeur.

The children were entertained by DJ Lummy, @Marvelous Millie the magician and they were so pleased to have their favourite, Mrs Muddles back again to entertain the children with dancing and to play party games.

The magnificent face painting and transfers done by friends Nina, Jade and Sophie were very popular.

The Hotel served a fantastic buffet lunch with something delicious for everyone. All the children went home with a special gift and an extra ice cream kindly donated by Barker Stuart Young, Spiral Ices.

Variety would like to thank the staff at the Hotel, Alison from Hallmark Cards for the balloons to decorate the room, Magic Touch for assisting with the helium and everyone involved who made the party such a success.

Variety donate £5000 worth of specialist toys to the JCCT library

We are delighted to have recently donate £5,000 of specialist toys to the Jersey Child Care Trust (JCCT).

This will enable children with disabilities to have access to new and engaging items that cater to their emerging needs.

Collaborating closely with the JCCT to make it happen, this initiative significantly enhances the support provided to children with disabilities, ensuring that they have the best possible experience and developmental opportunities in their nursery environments and has made a profound difference in the lives of children in Jersey.

More than 200 are treated to the Battle of Flowers Funfair

Once again, Variety Jersey worked with the Jersey Battle of Flowers Funtazia Travelling Theme Park to open the site for families who may otherwise not be able to attend.

The site was closed to the general public and music levels were lowered between 12:00 and 14:00 yesterday.

This is a wonderful opportunity as some of the children may not have been able to have gone to the funfair without this support.

Variety also provided lunch for all the youngsters who attended.

A big thank you to the fair organisers who made this possible.
