Variety is proud to support children in Jersey
We support children and families across Jersey with practical, flexible help tailored to individual needs. Support is often provided quickly, quietly, and with dignity.
We work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and local organisations.
Supporting Local Families in Jersey
Life can be challenging, and at times families need extra support. If you are a parent, carer, or professional seeking help for a child or young person, we want to make it easy to ask.
Support can be requested by schools, social workers, government agencies, or families directly. By removing these barriers, we help children feel comfortable and confident, in home and school life.
Providing Food Vouchers for Everyday Support
Variety Jersey provides food vouchers to help families manage everyday costs and ensure children have access to nutritious meals. This support helps reduce financial pressure and offers reassurance during difficult periods.
We work closely with social workers and community organisations to reach families most in need, providing practical help when it matters most.
Supplying Clothing and School Uniforms
Children grow quickly, and the cost of clothing and school uniforms can be difficult for some families to manage. We provide clothing, footwear, and primary school uniform vouchers to help meet these essential needs.
Essential Support for Families and Children
In addition to food and clothing vouchers, we receive regular requests for a range of essential items. Variety Jersey can provide support towards baby essentials and equipment such as prams, cots, and highchairs, helping to give infants a safe and comfortable start in life.
We also assist with children’s beds, creating secure and restful spaces that support their wellbeing as they grow.
Alongside practical support, we host annual summer and Christmas parties for children who are disadvantaged or have additional needs, and their families. These events provide a chance to come together, enjoy shared experiences, and celebrate the community that supports our work.
Providing the Right Support, at the Right Time, for Every Child
Variety Jersey helps fund one-to-one support for children who may be struggling to settle into school or manage daily challenges. Working with schools, this personalised support helps children build confidence, develop social skills, and feel included.
We also work closely with health visitors, social workers, therapists, and partner organisations to ensure families can access the right support at the right time. This includes funding sensory rooms, quiet spaces, parenting support programmes, specialist facilities such as hydrotherapy pools, and inclusive outdoor play spaces.
Working with Schools to Support Jersey’s Children
In partnership with schools, we help create playgrounds that are safe, stimulating, and fully accessible, including for children with disabilities. By funding specialist play equipment and improving outdoor facilities, we ensure every child has the opportunity to play, explore, socialise, and feel part of their school community.
By supporting access to specialist care, including occupational therapy, we help improve children’s physical, emotional, and developmental wellbeing, giving them the best opportunity to grow and reach their potential.
